The Authorized Automotive Dealers Association, OYDER, is a non-governmental organization established 30 years ago with the mandate of representing all authorized automotive dealers in Turkey.

Since Authorized Dealers, as authorized organizations for automotive retail, are the only contact point with the consumer in the value chain of automotive trade, they contribute significantly to the understanding, fulfillment and improvement of consumer expectations and demands by the industry. It is with this awareness and responsibility that OYDER organizes an Automotive Congress every year to provide reliable information about future developments expected in the automotive industry and to facilitate a discussion on these developments ahead of time.

The Congress convenes every year with the main title The Future of the Automotive Industry, and each year new and up-to-date topics are covered with the contribution of national and international speakers, embracing the whole industry.

In 2010, Mr. Rahmi Koç, the Honorary President of the largest company in Turkey, Koç Holding, spoke at our congress and shared his experience and opinions on the industry with a broad range of participants.

In 2011, the theme of the Congress was The Future of the Automotive Industry – “From the Present to 2023”, and the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, the Minister of Economy, and the Chairman of TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey), the largest non-governmental organization in Turkey, talked at the Congress and shared information about our country’s vision and goals for 2023.

The Congress “The Power of Branding” organized in 2012 staged a discussion on creating local brands with input from the industry, and Mr. Gerhard Schröder, former Chancellor of Germany, the country known globally for its strong brands, was one of the speakers.

In 2013, the need for change in the new world and the repercussions of this need in the automotive industry were discussed under the theme “Change for Development”. To contribute to these discussions, our Minister of Economy and Former State Minister of Mexico, Mr. Jose Felipe Calderon participated in our Congress, and assessed our vision for the future together with representatives from the industry while highlighting similarities between Mexico and Turkey.

At our Congress in 2015, we discussed the topic “The Future of Automotive Retailing” with the contributions of Earl Hesterberg, CEO of Group1Auto, one of the biggest players of Automotive Retailing in the U.S., Assoc. Prof. Leonardo Buzzavo, faculty at Ca-Foscari University and the organizer of “Dealer Day”, one of the most prominent events in Europe, and Steve Young, Managing Director of ICDP, a U.K.-based company conducting automotive research, and focused on current problems of Authorized Dealers, macroeconomic factors that influence the industry, and possible future scenarios.

Discussions at our 2016 Congress revolved around the theme “Transition to the Digital World and Success-oriented Business Models”. Mr. Mehmet ŞİMŞEK, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Bruno SCHWAMBACH, CEO of Grupo Parvi (Brazil), Mr. Pau Garcia MILA from IdeaFoster, Leaders University (Spain), Mr. Runar MYHRE, CIO of Bertel O. Steen A.S. (Norway), Patrick KATENKAMP, President of Software International and COX Automotive (U.S.), and Assoc. Prof. Leonardo BUZZAVO from Verona University (Italy) contributed to the discussions.

The topic of our Congress in 2017 was “The Power of Loyalty in Automotive Retailing”. Loyalty programs used in the industry were discussed around this main theme. Minister of Finance Naci Ağbal, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Koç Holding Ali Koç, Governor of Istanbul Vasip Şahin, as well as Leonardo Buzzavo from Venice – Ca’Foscari University, Vice-President of J.D. Power Charles Mills and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Centro Consulting Mike Smith participated in the Congress as speakers.

At our 2018 Congress we discussed the topic “The New Era” in Automotive Retailing and shared new horizons with our colleagues. Nihat Zeybekçi, our Minister of Economy, Sebastian Fuchs, Senior Director Europe of Cox Automotive from Europe, Jared Hamilton, CEO of Driving Sales from the U.S., Ufuk Tarhan, CEO of Futurist M.Gen, Haydar Yenigün, General Manager of Ford Otosan, Berk Çağdaş, CEO of Renault-Mais, and Cengiz Eroldu, CEO of Tofaş-Fiat were speakers at our Congress.

The only and largest congress of the industry with around 1000 participants every year, the OYDER Automotive Congress will be held again in 2019 to serve the industry with the impact it creates and its result-oriented approach.

OYDER, the Authorized Automotive Dealers Association, is the only non-governmental organization in Turkey that represents all Authorized Automotive Dealers who ensure contact between the Automotive Industry and consumers.

One of the four links of the leading industry in the national economy, OYDER, the Authorized Automotive Dealers Association, is representing 47 brands at 984 locations.

The Authorized Automotive Dealers OYDER is representing offer maximum Customer Satisfaction by providing new vehicle sales, used vehicle sales, all kinds of repair and spare part services, paint protection and tuning services as well as all kinds of insurance sales under the same roof.

Like a mosaic of Turkey, this representative body is offering services at plaza buildings in all provinces and major districts around the country. The organization is spread over 5 million sqm,

has realized investments amounting to 15 billion TRY,

and continues in business with 10 billion TRY equity/creditworthiness. 

80 thousand people are directly employed in this network, and including related components, the number of jobs created reaches 100 thousand.

Active for 30 uninterrupted years, OYDER organizes meetings, panel discussions, conferences, congresses and trainings with a view to help all stakeholders in the automotive industry to adapt to global developments and stay on top of the changing legislation.

Assuming the role of the intermediary between Authorized Automotive Dealers and the government, state and bureaucracy through relations in the industry at the highest level, OYDER also provides opinions and makes statements on behalf of Authorized Dealers on all changes and new arrangements in the automotive industry.

Observer at CECRA (European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs) since 2005, OYDER engages in efforts for Turkey’s EU membership and continues to represent the Authorized Automotive Dealers of Turkey in the EU.

Drawing strength from the diversity and sector influence of the Authorized Dealers it represents, OYDER sheds light onto the industry and strives to contribute to shaping its future through the “Automotive Congresses” it organizes annually.

Besides, OYDER offers benefits to its colleagues by holding regional meetings, publishing trade magazines, preparing professional and academic publications, as well as organizing trainings, and constitutes a true example of social responsibility with the added value it generates.
